Problem: Ultimate Windows Tweaker loads as a process with no GUI, long delays in loading.

SOLVED: Disable PAE and run the program again.

DEP Must be disabled first as PAE cannot be disabled while DEP is enabled.
NOTE: DEP must be enabled to run the Ultimate Windows Tweaker.

    Syntax:

To Disable DEP: ‘bcedit /set nx AlwaysOff’

To Disable PAE: ‘bcdedit /set pae ForceDisable’

To Enable DEP: ‘bcedit /set nx AlwaysOn’

Reboot the machine and re-run The Ultimate Windows Tweaker .exe file.

NOTE: To re-enable PAE: ‘bcdedit /set pae ForceEnable’

**The need to disable PAE is listed in the ‘System Requirements’ field in the description of the program** –Good luck.

I noticed if you disable networking temporarily it will come up, and then re-engage it. v2.1 works fine in Windows 7.

Yes, I’m seeing the same thing. Process is running, but no GUI yet. It’s been about 5 minutes so far.
    I’m using a Sony VPCZ1 – Core i7 with 8Gb RAM.

My laptop is a work machine so our image configurations may have something to do with it starting slowly.
My laptop is a ThinkPad T410, 4 GB RAM, 2.53GHz, Windows 7 Enterprise (Build 7600)

I found out by accident that the GUI does load, because I started it up, but got called to a meeting. When I came back, it was up and running. I have no idea how long it took to start.

But, even now as I type this, I tried starting it, and it has been close to 15 minutes and the GUI isn’t up yet.

    Sure :-)

Dell E6510 with 8 GB RAM.

hmm.. don’t know if thats all you need? Just say the word and i will supply the info :-)

Thanks for the will to help.
And yes.. It works, and it must be some strange Win 7 behaviour that slows startup down..

After 3 startups, it now starts in 22-23 seconds.

UPDATE!.. It DOES work.. BUT: it takes 1-1½ minute to start up before the GUI appears?
We simply thought it would not work so we all killed the process after 20-30 sek.
We’re not used to long startup times :-)
BUT it does work.. just need a lot of patience :-)

    I am running Windows 7 64-bit…
When I run the executable for UWT 2.2 nothing pops up for me. No box for me to make any changes to my system.
I see the process “Ultimate Windows Tweaker.exe” running in Task Manager, but nothing on my screen for me to use to make my adjustments. Any suggestions?

Yep. Me too. It’s running in task manager, but there’s no UI. It flashes for a few milliseconds, but then vanishes. Windows 7 64-bit.

I’m logged onto our company network and UWT does not pop up. Even after 10 min. Any reason?

Don’t detach Empty Icon(empty.ico) from executable’s root, the Empty Icon is copied to system directory and referred in runtime.
