File History is a new addition to built-in Windows backup and recovery solutions in Windows 8. File History is an easy way to take backup of your all libraries, desktop, contacts and favorites to an external/internal drives or network locations.
Initially File History was introduced as ‘History Vault’ in pre-release builds of Windows 8. It maintains file versioning, takes backup seamlessly allowing you to restore the file version you want.
The interface includes advanced settings where you can exclude folders from a backup and choose how often you want to run backup process, and how long you keep older versions.
File History gives complete control over backup jobs from a clean and simple user interface that may ditch all third-party backup solutions in near future.
