Here is a useful Registry Tweak that allows to block File downloading through Internet Explorer. After applying this, User will not be able to download any content except web surfing.

One of interesting thing, you don’t need to install third party add-on or configure Windows Firewall or setup AV Security settings.

How To:

  1. First make sure, you have closed all instances of Internet Explorer, then Run Registry Editor and go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\3
  2. Create a new DWORD value (REG_DWORD) called 1803 and set its value 0
  3. To re-enable File downloading, just delete the value and restart your Internet Explorer.
