A crazy rumor is circulating over the web that Windows 8 to RTM in sometime April 2012. Mary Jo Foley, a trusted Microsoft journalist has published an update about Microsoft timeline for Windows 8.

“I’ve received new information from a trusted source that Microsoft is actually on track to release to manufacturing all Windows 8 versions by April 2012,” said Mary Jo Foley.

As per reports, Windows 8 is less than a year away. Reportedly Microsoft is hard at work and will be wrapping up Windows 8 by April 2012. The source claims Microsoft is all set to release a beta (instead of pre-beta or preview build) at BUILD Conference and it will take place in between September 13-16. At the same, Microsoft may also unveil Internet Explorer 10.

According to reports, Microsoft not to let 32bit platform in lurch and will continue the legacy with Windows 8 for x86, in addition to x64 and ARM/SoC (system on a chip) platforms.

In addition, Windows 8 RC is also expected in January 2012 just before RTM build, which will be finalized by sometime April 2012.
