Hi , i would like to win one license of this masterpiece in its category . As i am an hardcore pc user , i have to evaluate many software of all nature bad / good . Sometime they corrupt my pc beyond repair , so i have to reinstall windows right from the scratch . I tried free cloning softwares like driveimage xml etc but they are too inconveniant for day to day backup jobs , i tried old versions of symantec backup softwares and found them very easy to use . Believe me , they saved me many times in case of computer crashes , virus attacks ,bad setting due to bad softwares . Hats off to this masterpiece. I am following ur every move on twitter as @pantherchd as well as by email feeds . I tweeted this among my followers on twitter . Here is my tweet http://twitter.com/pantherchd/status/17174242142 . Hope i win ,thanks in advance.

    Hi,

    Thank you for this giveaway,

I used to reinstall Windows 7 on different computers. Symantec Backup Exec is great for doing this job because it can restore backup to different computer hardware. On the top of it, it supports virtual machine so I think it is great to use it to restore Virtual PC and VMWare systems.

I am already in the email list.

    Thanks for hosting this giveaway.
Already on the mailing list (that’s how I learned about this giveaway).

Please enter me in the contest for the following reasons:

I’m an old timer who remembers Peter Norton as a kid. I cut my teeth on CP/M and early PC-DOS and MS-DOS. When Symantec started out, I rather liked their products, especially when Norton and his utilities joined up. But a few years ago, Symantec products fell out of my favor. I’ve tried some of their AV and firewall products, even had some full suites for free, but I just didn’t like them and don’t try them anymore. I may have to reevaluate my opinion with Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery Desktop Edition.

    1) Symantec says this product can backup and recover complete operating systems to same hardware setup OR to a different hardware (as in new) setup with their Restore Anyware Technology. OK, good start.
    2) The Technology is reported to fully support Windows 7 and Server 2008. Well, good again. 64-bit?
    3) At least this feature would let me to manually reinstall and reconfigure full operating systems, all my applications, and my personal settings and preferences to my new computer (which I build about every 3-4 months). Not unheard of, but good.
    4) The software collects your system drivers and lets you manually add 3rd party drivers to your backup. You can then burn the collection to CD or save it as an .iso file. Hmmm, better.
    5) Since I work at multiple sites and have multiple desktops and laptops, the remote recovery feature for single volumes or complete systems could save me a lot of time and headaches. Now that’s great.
    6) If I don’t need a full system restore, this product allows restoring individual files and folders. That’s not so uncommon in backup software, but I like the option of using the built-in search tool or Google Desktop to do it. OK, OK, better still.
    6) I also like the fact that you can Convert backup images to VMware and (Symantec claims) Hyper-V virtual formats; and it supports FTP backups. Alright, sounds really good.

I think I may like this one.

    Thanks again,
    wkp

I have 3 computers at home two laptops and a PC, I like to test new software
So it is important for me to create a complete system backup and files or important event that it crashes or I can no longer connect to the net (once I install a software optimization and change it connection setting, I had to format my pc to be able to connect to the internet)
